Our Search Dogs
Our dogs have been taught scent discrimination so they can efficiently follow the scent of an individual dog. This ability to pursue a scent is invaluable in the search of a lost pet. Our dogs can help provide information in a search by establishing a direction of travel, they can confirm sightings, point out areas of interest and in rare cases, they can make a walk up find.
Search Management
Search Dogs Guernsey work closely with other emergency and rescue services on the island. We know who to contact and when to call them. We work alongside experienced drone pilots that understand the safety and operational limitations that are appropriate for the bailiwick. Being able to act quickly and liaise with other services can save valuable time and is crucial in emergency situations.
Equipment
We have a range of equipment to assist us on our searches such as wildlife cameras and humane cat traps. Our dogs are all fitted with secure harnesses, their handlers are supplied with long lines and carry an emergency kit. The list of equipment will continue to grow with us as a charity.

Creating posters and flyers is a fundamental part of some searches and is a highly effective tool for recovering lost pets. We can help by designing your missing pet poster or you can use our template to make your own.
